Dear
Hooters of LBV Thank you for the items that were sent to us over here. Myself and the Marines in my squadron were really surprised to receive a package with magazines, hot sauce and newspapers. Not only that but I would like to thank you for the help and your employees gave to my mother. I would tell her of what we had to eat over here and she would try to send sauces and barbeque sauce but this is the best yet. It means a lot to us here and now I get to brag of the quality of people back home. No one else has in this unit has received anything amounting to this. I even had my Commanding Officer wondering were it came from. You really put a smile on our faces and made a serious impact on the morale of this Squadron. My name is Cpl. Wood and I am one of the 18 Ch-46 helicopter Crew Chiefs in this Squadron. Our duties in the aircraft require us to be mechanics and when we fly we are responsible for defending the A/C as well as running the show in the back. We also carry Corpsman in the back who works on the patience as we fly to and from the various LZs. We have been extremely busy in our duties and responsibilities here in Iraq. Our main mission is Casevac and Medivac. The difference between the two is a Casevac is the evacuation of a wounded servicemen or civilian form the point of injury as we call it. Often times that is the most dangerous for us and thus far we have been successful in saving countless lives both American and Iraqi. We have also directly supported Special Forces and Operations in our area of responsibility. So as you might be able to tell we have little to look forward to in this quick paced environment. So when we get to have Hooters hot sauce and magazines with our chow it really means a lot to us. Put simply we are easy to please and I am eager to come home and visit your restaurant, and when I do I will bring a few Marines along. Also we have planned out here already to provide you with a few pictures and other items from our Squadron to show our appreciation, and if you see fit would like you to post them in your restaurant. Thanks again for your generosity. Cpl. Paul Wood Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364 The World Famous Purple Foxes Original Story below |

email was sent to Ray Wood (Cpl. Paul Wood's Dad) 3/8/2005 10:18 AM "We shipped out two huge boxes today. It was really a community effort. There are two boxes each with 6 cases of cookies in each box. The Rotary Club of Winter Springs bought 39 boxes and people shopping at Lowe's in Oviedo were happy to buy cookies to send to Paul and his unit. The UPS Store in Oviedo packed the boxes for us and Paul Blastic, with LJ Ruffin and Assoc. paid for the shipping. The girls did a super job with their cookie sales. When they sold cookies at the cookie booth at Lowe's, they really were excited about encouraging people to send cookies to the US Soldiers overseas and in Iraq. Some of the boxes of cookies have notes on them from people who wanted to send their support. The Brownies also sent some notes. According to
the USPostal service the boxes should arrive within a Altogether there
