"Tim
was probably one of the greatest people my husband and I have
ever known.
He was the the Sgt. of arms in our wedding as well as my Mothers
escort."

"In
July of 1999, I married my wife Julie and I moved to Fredericksburg,
VA...about 45 mins south of DC. My wife has always been very
involved and supportive of my job and my fellow Marines. From
the first time she met Tim she liked him a lot. Also, she and
Michelle became close friends. Since we were both married and
our wives were so close, this brought Tim and I even closer
together. Tim was always there for me. During the first year
of being married he was always there to listen and give me advice,
as he had already been through what I was now going through.
I will never forget him telling me once when I was depressed
because of the trials of being newly married "Onsby, it
is all worth it in the end". He always knew just what to
say."

"...I
can truly say I have only one regret in all the time that
I have been friends with Capt. Ryan. And that is that I
never had the chance to march up to him, give him the proper
greeting and render a crisp salute say Thank you sir, for
being my true friend."

"Sgt
at Arms" is a pic of Tim saying something to my then
new wife as we exit the church. He and Julie would always
like to laugh at me because I can never be allowed to
know what was said. This was done
before the traditional "tap" on the rear by
the Sgt at Arms."

"This
photo was taken the morning I dropped him off at OCS. Let
me tell you how proud it made me to take him to Quantico
that cold morning. Tim and I were great friends, and I can
truly say that some of the best times in my life were spent
with him. Tim was a great man and a huge loss not only to
his family, but to the Marine Corps and to humanity. I still
miss him everytime I sit at my desk at home and see this
picture."

"Most
people who knew Tim well also knew that he absolutely
loved Halloween. Michelle, Tim and myself lived for this
day of year. Either we were at their house dressed up
in costumes handing out candy to trick or treaters or
they were at ours. We loved scary movies, going on ghost
tours/walks, we even went to the local Pumpkin Patch (Belevedere
Plantation) in Fredericksburg, VA. While there we went
through a maize of corn. These are very elaborate maizes
and you have different checkpoints to go through. In any
case, we had a great time. We called ourselves 'The Watusi's'"

"When
Tim applied for and was accepted to the Enlisted Commissioning
Program. I will never forget how excited he was. I was
so happy and proud of my friend, but so sad on the other
hand to see him go. Fortunatly, before he departed for
OCS, I organized a group of us that wanted to get something
for him. We all got together and bought him his Officer's
Sword. Luckily I didn't have it engraved like I wanted
because we soon found out that it was a bit to short for
Tim's tall stature.
He got it exchanged and it all worked out."

"We
also got together during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Trains, Planes, and Automobiles along with A Christmas
Story were also traditional movies for us during Thanksgiving
holiday. These were two of Tim's favorite movies. Tim
used to say that he loved it when TNT ran A Christmas
Story 24 hours because no matter when he turned the t.v.
on he could watch that movie! These are just a few of
my favorite memories that I thought I would share ."

|
"Michelle
is a phenomenal cook. Tim could
hardly wait to eat a turkey cooked by his wife. He also
could not wait for the pumpkin cheesecake to follow, which
is one of Michelle's specialties. He loved her pumpkin
cheesecake and also Tiramisu. He would beg her to make
these for him, waiting for the holidays was hardly bearable."
Julia Rose

|
 |
|
"We
took a hay ride over to the pumpkin patch, where we all
picked out pumpkins. We made Onsby and Tim carry all these
pumpkins because if you could walk 10 feet with your armload
of pumpkins, rather than to pay by the pound you got the
whole bunch for $20 (which in our case was a steal!). We
all loved to carve pumpkins and always got a lot of compliments
on whatever scene we put on them. It was great."
Julia Rose

|
"I
was fortunate enough to be able to attend his OCS graduation,
TBS graduation and the last time I saw him was when his
wings were pinned on in Pensacola. That was one of the happiest
days of his life and we were all very proud of his accomplishments."
Julia Rose
|
"Tim
was always there to add his true humor and to make any time
spent in his presence enjoyable."
